lumia 820

While most of the manufacturers have been crying foul since the recent hike in excise duty, Nokia is busy playing its own tune. After the Lumia 620 got a price cut this week, it is Lumia 820’s turn to be discounted.

The Lumia 820 is now available for Rs 23,969 from Nokia Shop. As we’ve stated time and again, the earlier price of approx. Rs 26,000 seemed a little too much for the hardware this phone has to offer. However, a 17 percent price cut definitely makes this phone an attractive deal.

The phone comes with a 4.3 inch WVGA display AMOLED display. However, the phone’ss biggest strength is the 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 graphics. Additionally, the phone has to offer 1 GB RAM, 8GB internal storage that is expandable via microSD card, 8 megapixel rear camera, VGA front cam and a 1650 mAh battery. The phone also supports wireless charging and runs Windows Phone 8, of course.

Lumia 820 offers double the RAM and a faster processor compared to its closest sibling the Lumia 720. The new price makes it compete with the likes of Galaxy S II Plus, Xperia SL and HTC One, each of which have their own unique advantages. The phone is available in red, white, yellow, black and cyan. Also Vodafone is offering 2GB data per month for 3 months with the phone as part of a promotional tie up.

This phone is good and very beautiful but fear of being shouted at, i still believe 20000 is right price for it… where i can consider buying it over galaxy grand (solely because of colors in lumia)

However, i would wait for Lumia 720 and buy it provided it comes for 16k to 17k

else i wil go for samsung glalaxy grand for 20000, best phone in this range

The 1 GB RAM on this one over Lumia 720’s 512 MB RAM is its biggest advantage. We saw what happened with Temple Run today. Best advice, use a coupon and get this phone for 22k. Galaxy Grand has got its own issues.
