If the lack of FM radio in Windows Phone 8 is a deal breaker for you, you might have to look for other excuses to avoid the platform soon enough. Sources close to Microsoft informed Verge that the company is planning to bring FM Radio to Windows Phone 8 in the latest update for the platform. The feature was available in Windows Phone 7.x devices but was dropped in WP8 supposedly due to lack of time to implement it. However, it will once again be brought back with the GDR2 update that Microsoft is planning to release in the coming few weeks. Of course, it will only work on devices that have the hardware to run the feature including the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820.
Nokia will also be giving a touch of its own to the update, bringing in features such as flip to silence, Lumia color profile settings for the display and a new screen activation gesture that will allow the phone to wake from standby by simply double tapping the screen instead of having to press the power button. The new gesture will be available for Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.
