If you thought that the tablet market was already too crowded, allow us to introduce iBall’s latest Android tablet, Edu-Slide. Designed specially for students, the tablet will go on sale in the country for Rs 12,999 and run Android 4.1 out of the box.
The Edu-Slide features a 10.1 inch HD (1280×800) IPS display and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor. It also packs a Mali G400 GPU and 1GB RAM. Other specs include 8GB inbuilt storage, microSD slot, a 2MP rear camera and a front facing VGA camera.
Edu-Slide also comes pre-loaded with education software called e-Teach. It offers educational material for students from standard I to XII based on the curriculum provided by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Users will get one standard course material for free. However, iBall is offering consumers an additional course material for free until 15th of April 2013 as an introductory offer. Though this isn’t the first time a manufacturer is adopting this strategy in the market, with HCL offering similar software on its tablets.
