Sony is expecting to make a huge splash at the upcoming Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai starting June 26. We already know that the company is set to announce its phablet phone Xperia ZU and a smartwatch at the event, but latest reports coming in indicate that Sony might announce another smartphone at the event.
According to XperiaBlog, Sony will be unveiling Xperia C alongside Xperia ZU. The phone will be another large screen offering from the company that will be packing modest specs to keep the price down. According to the report, the phone will feature a 5 inch qHD display and will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad core (most likely MediaTek or Snapdragon 200) processor. The phone will also be packing 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion. The phone is also expected to feature 8 megapixel Exmor R camera. It will also be sporting a 8.8mm thin profile and run on Android 4.2.2. Also, the phone will be dual SIM.
The report further claims that Xperia C will be launched in China initially, with other markets to follow soon. The phone will be competing mostly against Samsung’s smartphones including Galaxy Mega 5.8 (though that’s too big in size compared to this one) and Galaxy Grand.
Sony will also be launching its new flagship Xperia ZU, which is said to feature a a quad core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor along with 6.4-inch full HD display with X-Reality for Mobile, 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 3,000mAh battery.
