Surprise, Surprise, look who’s here. After eluding Indian fans for so long, the LG Optimus G is finally here. Indian retailer Saholic (for some reason they’re always the first) has started taking pre-orders for the handset, promising shipment in six business days. As for the price, the LG Optimus G is retailing for Rs 30,990.
For those of you who had given up on this phone and forgotten about it altogether, the Optimus G was announced back in August last year. It was the first phone to feature a Qualcomm S4 Pro chip. The phone sports a 4.7-inch True HD 720p IPS Plus display, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage (non expandable we’re afraid). The phone also comes with 13MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera. Powering the phone is a 2100 mAh battery.
LG has already sent out press invites for the launch event scheduled to be held on 27 February and we expect the phone to be available the same day. With the company having officially announced the Optimus G Pro, which is the successor to this phone, we only wished the company would have released the phone sooner. But don’t worry we don’t expect the Optimus G Pro to be available in the country anytime soon either. So the Optimus G will continue to remain the best offering from LG still for some time at least in India.
