Samsung Galaxy S II Plus has hit the Indian shores and is now available for purchase from online retailer Infybeam. The phone has been priced at Rs 22,900 and should be seen hitting other stores soon.
The phone which was announced in January this year, capitalizes on Galaxy S II’s critical acclaim and has almost similar specs to the original, if not inferior. The phone packs a 1.2 GHz dual core processor from Broadcomm and comes with a 4.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, offering a pixel density of 217 ppi. It packs 1GB RAM along with 8GB of internal storage that is expandable via memory card. The phone fits an 8 megapixel camera with flash along with a 2 MP front camera. There’s a 1650 mAh battery tucked in along with the usual Bluetooth and WiFi. The phone comes with Android 4.1 onboard skinned with Touchwiz UI v5.0.
At Rs 22,900 there are much better alternatives available in the market that offer better specs for the same price. If you’re looking on Windows Phone side, the Lumia 720 has better features for a lesser price tag. Of course, you don’t get Android 4.1 or a planned upgrade to 4.2, but even in the Android camp, one can find better deals including the Xperia SL and the HTC One S.
