Lava is the latest company to give the low cost 7 inch tablet market a try with its first Android 4.1 tablet, the Etab Xtron (fancy name we must say).

lava etab xtron Lava launches budget Jelly Bean tablet ETab Xtron for Rs 6,770

The Etab features a 7-inch IPS display with a 1024 x 600 resolution. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor with Mali-400 quad-core GPU. So far so good. Also it comes with 1GB RAM and a 2MP front camera for video calling but skips on the rear camera which is expected at this price point. The Etab Xtron comes with 8GB of internal storage along with support for up to 32GB storage via microSD. The battery stands at 3500 mAh and the device features WiFi and 3G via USB-dongle.

Lava Etab Xtron comes pre-loaded with several apps including Office Suite, Adobe reader, Chess, Sudoku and Mine Sweeper among others. Lava has also tied up with various content providers like Hungama.com, BigFlix and edukart.com to provide free or discounted content on the Etab Xtron. While hungama.com would be providing entertainment package worth Rs 2,000 for free, BigFlix is being generous enough to provide one month unlimited online movie package for just Re 1.

Priced for Rs.6770 Lava ETab is the cheapest among three 7 inch tablets launched recently (the Asus MemoPad 7 and the Acer Iconia B1 being the other two). And although all of them carry similar specs, the desi brand image might hurt the sales of this one. Still for the price it carries we can say that the tablet is worth considering.
