Xiaomi has finally made its flagship phone – the Mi 5 available on third-party retailers’ websites including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and TataCLIQ. The phone was launched in the country back in April, but was exclusively available on Mi.com, the company’s Indian online store, until now.
Mi 5 comes with some features not seen in the price bracket, including the flagship Snapdragon 820 processor. Although, the Indian version of the phone gets the lower clocked version of the processor. It also sports a 5.15 inch 1080p display and packs along 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. A 16MP shooter on the back is paired with a dual-LED dual-tone flash, as well as features like OIS and phase detection auto focus. While on the front, a 4MP camera takes care of your selfie needs. On the software side of things, it runs on Android 6.0 with MIUI skin on top of it. The phone is available in white and it isn’t known if the company has any plans to bring the 64GB and the 128GB versions to the Indian shores.
The phones is available for Rs 24,999 on Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and TataCLIQ. We were hoping Xiaomi would get the phone to these ecommerce websites sooner, since its own store is somewhat lesser known in India. Larger availability on these websites would give the phone a bigger channel for sales. Although, we doubt the phone would be sold in brick and mortar stores anytime soon.
