Microsoft Office 365 (Office 13) will be getting its Indian release tomorrow, however that hasn’t stooped the company from putting up the prices a day earlier. Just like the US, Microsoft is offering Office 13 either as a one time purchase or as a monthly subscription service.
First up, the Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium is a monthy subscription based product where you can use Office 13 on upto five PCs or Macs for a monthly fee of Rs 399 or an yearly fee of Rs 3999. The Home Premium version includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher and Access. Additionally Microsoft is offering 20GB of Skydrive cloud storage. However unlike that in the US, users won’t get any free Skype minutes back in India. Also subscription would mean getting the latest updates on time something important for Mac users. Users will also be able to access the the web apps of Office 365 on any machine when they login with the Windows id.
Users can also buy the software as a one time thing. Microsoft isn’t including any CD or DVD this time around in the packaging. Customers will be provided with a serial key that they will need to enter at office.com and download the package. As for the packages, Office Home and Students 2013 would cost Rs 5,499 and include Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Note. Office Home and Business 2013 would cost Rs 13,499 and include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. Lastly Office Professional 2013 would set you back by Rs 24,999 and include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher. All these would work on only one PC and would include access to office web apps and Skydrive integration.
