After the high end phones, Nokia’s mid range handset, the Lumia 625 has started receiving the Nokia Black update. The phone is the next in line after the Lumia 1020, 925, 920 and 820 to get the update. The update is available for the handset in some European markets, but should roll out to other regions soon enough.
Nokia Black brings the Update 3 for Windows Phone 8 along with Nokia’s own softwares bundled along. These include an orientation lock, new drive mode, ability to close apps from the multi task menu, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and the new Nokia Camera app. However, apps like Nokia Beamer and Nokia Refocus, which require 1GB RAM would be incompatible with the device. There are also several under the hood changes including better camera algorithm and overall performance.
You can manually check for the update by visiting Phone update in the Settings. With this, we’re hoping Nokia would soon be bringing the update to other low end phones too, since most of them share similar innards.
