Maybe the phrase ‘selling like hotcakes’ needs to be rephrased to ‘selling like Galaxy S’. That thanks to the 100 million mark that the Samsung Galaxy S series smartphones have managed to cross collectively. It took Samsung 2 years and 7 months to reach the magical number.
The biggest contributor to the list was the Samsung Galaxy S3 which has sold 40 million units (yes that’s more than all the Windows Phones combined) since its launch seven months back. The phone presently sells at a rate of around 190000 units a day. Adding further to that list is the Galaxy S II which has also managed to cross the 40 million mark.
Then there are other models like Galaxy S3 Mini which have sold in good numbers too. We only expect that number to accelerate from here on given that Galaxy S IV is expected to be launched this summer.
