Unwiredview has done it again. They’ve managed to get the specs of an upcoming Windows Phone 8 device codenamed HTC Tiara. The most notable fact about this device is that it would come running Windows Phone 8 GDR2 which is the second update to the platform (first was Portico) since its launch last fall.
The phone seems to be a mid range device packing modest specs. It comes with a dual core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz along with a WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) screen. The device also stuffs in an 8 megapixel camera paired with a 1.6 megapixel front camera. Other features include 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and an 1800mAh battery.
The device features strikingly similar specs to the HTC One SV except for the 8 megapixel camera (One SV comes with a 5 MP shooter).
However, it won’t be taking design cues from HTC One as stated by the company officials recently during an interview about company’s plans with Windows Phone.
HTC Tiara will be the third WP8 device from HTC after the HTC 8X and 8S. With the kind of specs it has, the phone would compete directly against the Lumia 820. But it isn’t a bad thing since more devices can only benefit the Windows Phone ecosystem at the moment.
