Showing some love to users in India, Google has released a Hindi keyboard for devices running Android. The keyboard is available as a downloadable app in the Play Store.
Apart from a Hindi keyboard the app also supports transliteration. It means if you type a Hindi word, say namaste in English (Roman script), it will be converted to a Devanagari equivalent. This can come in handy for users not so accustomed to typing in Hindi on their phones.
The app is supported on all devices including tablets and mobiles that run Android 2.2 and above. It allows users to type messages, update on social networks or compose emails in Hindi on their Android phones.
