We’ve been hearing about a Facebook phone for so long now that we thought that it was on its way to becoming a myth. However, evleaks has got hold of what it claims are the specs of the next generation Facebook phone by HTC. If true, this would be HTC’s second attempt at building a social networking phone. The company came out with HTC Salsa and ChaCha in 2011 with a dedicated Facebook button. What trick HTC is planning to pull off this time remains to be seen.

According to the leak, the Facebook phone, codenamed ‘HTC Myst’ will pack a dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 (S4 Plus) processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz. It will  come with a 4.3 inch 720p display that will offer an impressive 320 ppi. Additionally, the phone will pack 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 5 MP camera and a 1.6 MP front facing camera. The phone will skip on microSD slot however. HTC Myst will run Android 4.1.2. It will also feature LTE and HSPA.

It will be interesting to see what additional features the HTC Myst has to offer. With current Facebook app (except maybe for the Windows Phone version) on smartphones capable of doing almost everything that can be done on Facebook, we hope HTC Myst doesn’t get lost in a myst itself.
