In a bid to take a further slice of market share from rival AMD, Nvidia today announced 700M series of mobile GPUs that will power future laptops, tablets and Ultrabooks. The new line of mobile GPUs comprises of 5 models at present. While the GeForce GT 720M and 735M will cater the mainstream segment, GeForce GT 740M, 745M, and 750M will be powering the devices in performance segment.
The new series incorporates features like NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0, which intelligently adjusts GPU clock speed to maximize graphics performance, and Optimus technology, which enables extra-long battery life by switching the GPU on and off so it runs only when needed.
According to the press release, the new series of mobile GPUs will showcase itself in the upcoming models from manufacturers including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba.
