Panasonic today announced the Lumix DMC-GF6 micro four-thirds mirrorless camera. The camera is an entry level device in its niche and comes with with a capacitive display that can swivel backwards and forwards. The camera comes with some modern features including built in WiFi and NFC to pair it with a smartphone or a tablet. There’s also a WiFi app to remotely control the camera. Pretty cool, eh?
Lumix DMC-GF6 packs a 16–megapixel Live MOS Sensor and features Venus Engine image processor. It packs a 1040k-dot screen that can tilt and flip 180 degrees for those self portraits. The camera gains a new dial along with a top-plate zoom lever encircling the shutter button. The camera is capable of churning out 1080/60i full-HD AVCHD video along with 3.7 fps burst shooting and supports an ISO range up to 25,600. The camera also boots up in 0.5 seconds, so that’s relatively fast.
Lumix DMC-GF6 comfortably sits between GF1 and GF5. The camera will be made available in black, white, brown or red starting next month. No word on the pricing yet.
