It’s been well over an year since the Lumia 720 was announced and that’s a very long time in the current tech scenario. However, it seems like you won’t have to wait long for a successor after all, since the first alleged live shots of Nokia – Superman have surfaced. It is most probably the successor to the Lumia 720 and might retail with the official name of Lumia 730.
In terms of specs, Microsoft and Nokia have designed Superman to be a selfie phone with a five megapixel front camera. It’s not something unusual as we’ve already seen many Chinese vendors and even the likes of HTC offering the same on their mid and high range offerings. Other specs of the Lumia 730 include a 4.7 inch 720p display, 1GB RAM, Snapdragon 400 quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and an odd 6.5MP rear camera (luckily with flash). The battery size remains unchanged at 2,000mAh. Still, it’s a worthy upgrade over the Lumia 720 (something we can’t say about the Lumia 530 or 630).
It also appears that Microsoft will keep the Nokia branding on this one. Lumia 730 will come with Nokia Debian Red which could be Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 wrapped in Nokia’s package. We’ll know more in the coming days.
