Apple gave Indian consumers a big reason to cheer by slashing the price of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus models by as much as Rs 22,000 a week ago. However, the cheapest model in the series – the 16GB iPhone 6S was still retailing for around Rs 48,000 on major online websites. Luckily, this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The iPhone 6S 16GB variant can be picked for as low as Rs 41,800 on Amazon India.
This is indeed the lowest price for the iPhone 6S in India over the last one year. The phone comes with features such as a 12 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, 4.7 inch display and dual core Apple A9 chipset. It runs on the latest version of the iOS (iOS 10) and comes with a fingerprint scanner.
Apple has already announced the iPhone 7 and it should be hitting the Indian shores as early as next month. While the iPhone 7 comes with features like larger 32GB storage, faster processor, waterproof body, and better camera technology, it is expected to be priced close to Rs 60,000 in the country, making it out of reach for most of the people.
We’re not sure how long will this reduced price stay. So if you’re planning to get yourself this model, now would be a good time. Apple is also expected to discontinue this model and replace it with a 32GB variant in the coming days. Although, whether the price of that model would be the same as the 16GB one, is something that’s not confirmed at this moment. This could well be a clearance sale of sorts before the price shoots to Rs 48,000 for the 32GB variant.
