We knew it, you probably knew it and now Samsung has made sure that anybody who didn’t know that the Galaxy S5 mini was in the pipeline, is aware of the phone now. Banking on the success of the Galaxy S5, its mini version offers a smaller size and price tag. The phone has been given a 4.5 inch display which has become the “mini” by today’s behemoth standards.
Galaxy S5 mini comes with a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a 720p resolution. That translates into a pixel density of 326ppi, much better than what the galaxy S4 mini had to offer (256ppi). Inside, the phone comes with a quad core 1.4GHz processor that has been paired with 1.5GB RAM and 16 gigs of internal storage that is expandable via microSD slot. The phone also packs a 2,100mAh battery, 150Mbps LTE, 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2.1MP front snapper.
Galaxy S5 mini maintains the IP67 certification for dust and water resistance seen on its elder sibling. It also keeps the fingerprint scanner along with the heart rate monitor seen on the Galaxy S5. The phone also comes with the latest Android 4.4 and will begin rolling out in Russian in early July. You can pick one up in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. There’s also a dual SIM version, but the prices of either haven’t been revealed yet.
